Project Description

VI Agroforestry, a leading organization focused on sustainable agriculture and agroforestry, aimed to enhance the monitoring and evaluation of its projects in Kenya. The organization needed a robust system to track progress, measure impact, and ensure effective resource allocation. In collaboration with Indepth Research Institute (IRES), VI Agroforestry embarked on the development of a web-based Monitoring and Evaluation Information Management System (MIS) database. This system was designed to centralize data collection, streamline reporting processes, and provide real-time insights into project performance. Key Outputs Functional System Hosted Online: The MIS database was successfully developed and hosted online, allowing for easy access to data and reports from anywhere. System Documentation: Detailed documentation was provided, outlining the system’s architecture, functionalities, and technical specifications. User’s Manual: A comprehensive user manual was created to guide staff in navigating and utilizing the system effectively. Source Code: The source code was delivered to VI Agroforestry, enabling future customizations and enhancements. The implementation of the Monitoring and Evaluation Information Management System transformed VI Agroforestry's ability to monitor and evaluate its agricultural projects. The centralized data management and real-time reporting capabilities significantly improved the organization's operational efficiency and decision-making processes. With better insights into project performance, VI Agroforestry could optimize resource allocation, enhance project outcomes, and ultimately contribute to sustainable agricultural development in Kenya.
